Last Breath, First Day
For centuries, the people of Israel had waited for the promised Messiah. Under the oppressive rule of Rome, many longed not for a Savior, but for a warrior king who would overthrow their enemies and restore the glory of David’s kingdom.
Menashe, the son of shepherds who raise lambs for Temple sacrifice, knows loss all too well. After a brutal attack on his village claims the lives of its infant boys—including his baby brother—he becomes consumed with vengeance. His thirst for justice leads him into the ranks of the Zealots, a revolutionary movement determined to resist Roman rule at any cost. Along the way, Menashe repeatedly crosses paths with a man some dare to call the Messiah.
Sethur, the son of a respected Pharisee, has spent his life under the weight of religious expectations. Desperate to escape the rigid demands of his father and driven by his own lust for wealth and pleasure, he abandons the security of the Temple for the political intrigue of Herod Antipas’s court. But when his choices entangle him in the murder of a prophet, Sethur is forced to confront the darkness within himself and question everything he once believed.
What neither man realizes is that their paths are being guided toward a single, life-altering encounter. As whispers spread throughout Judea about a prophet from Nazareth named Jesus, Menashe and Sethur will find themselves standing at a pivotal moment in history—one that will demand a choice that could change the course of their lives forever.
